Mind-Nature Institute is a multiple-level environmental research, training and capacity development institution in Africa.
Our work and programs depict the complexity of the environment. Linking nature, conservation and sustainability into themes and sectors of land, water, climate, food and agriculture, women and youth among others.
Our region and its ability to conserve, supply water, or feed people is continuously challenging.
It is a problem that requires cooperation, ideas, and skills to achieve a better wellbeing while not causing further harm to the environment at large.
Our mission therefore, is to improve the capabilities to sustainably use, govern, and manage the environment;
.…for improved well-being, social equity and justice, and sustainability in a time of climate change and other crises;
….by having the needed knowledge, data, and evidence, improved environmental, sustainability, and development capabilities that include skills, mindset, and power.
Our focus is environmental and touching points with land and water, food systems, tech, health, energy, women and youth, education, peace and security, and or oil and gas issues among others.
Our vision is of a capable, resilient, and thriving people, institutions, and nature in a time of climate change and other crises.
We contribute to the mission through research, knowledge co-creation, and the dissemination of innovations.
We also provide specialized training, skills development, and capacity building to different stakeholders in multiple ways.
To earn a greater influence, we are partnering and networking with individuals and institutions in civil society, the private sector, academia, research, and others in international development cooperation.
We are certain our path creates multiple effects while impacting lifelong skills, adaptable capabilities, and foresight in solutions.
A landscape, systems thinking and foresight approach is main to our work for transformation.
We approach our programming with both a specialist and integrated view. Offering depth and attention, while also linking into interconnection and scale.
This is because, environmental sustainability, and development are complex . Thus, we relate to as many of these themes as possible to ensure a holistic outcome.
Each of the Programs’ focus are well articulated in our strategic plan.
Relate with any of the thematic areas or sectors and seek an environmental perspective?
We are the institution!
